Bangladesh India Commits to BRIDGE the gaps at Bangladesh Startup Summit

A bilateral exchange of views with Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Kumar Verma and 12 Indian startups was held today (Saturday) on the occasion of 'Startup Bangladesh Summit 2023' where both the parties agreed to strengthen the further activities of Bangladesh-India Startup Exchange Program and virtual portal 'Bridge'. Earlier the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina Inaugurated the 'India-Bangladesh Startup Bridge Portal' in the morning.

The ICT Secretary Md. Samsul Arefin, Sami Ahmed, Managing Director of Startup Bangladesh Limited, Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director of DPIIT, India and Prabhleen Kaur, Manager of Startup India were also present in the exchange meeting at Hotel Inter-Continental’s Robi Hall.

The meeting emphasized making the bridge portal more effective for skill development, exchange of knowledge, ideas and experience and mutual information between entrepreneurs of the two countries.

Sahil Jagnani, CEO of Primary Healthcare India, Taranjit Singh, CEO of Innovation Learning Solutions, Shivani Trivedi, Marketing Lead of Tristol Labs, Jigenes Patel, Founder of Jivika Healthcare, Suraj Mier, Founder of NexSkills 360, Anirudh Bapat, CMO of Just Electric, Co-Founder of Gohemp AgroVentures Gaurav Dixit, Atom Alloys India Pvt Ltd. CTO Vinod Menon and Revamp Motors Head of Partnerships Ridhi Mahajan presented their innovations.

After hearing pitch, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak committed to inform the Prime Minister about potential Indian startups and take initiatives to bridge the gap between startups of the same group in Bangladesh.

On the other hand, Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma said, 'Digital Bangladesh and Smart Bangladesh have opened the doors of new possibilities. The joint efforts of our startup community will enhance the growth of the two countries. It is a great initiative. The presence of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh at the opening ceremony of the Bangladesh Startup Summit is a bonus for us. According to our new concept '1+1=11' we both countries will open doors of possibilities and move forward together.

Over 100 global VCs/investors, national-international level speakers and 600 startup companies are participating in the conference. 40 different sessions are being held over two days. 19 sessions were held on the first day after the inauguration. There will be 21 more sessions excluding the finale on the second day.
